BURBANK, CA (November 10, 2009) -- Ten Thirty-One Pictures Entertainment has received a 2009 Silver Davey Award for the documentary produced for the 135th anniversary of Obery Farms in Metamora, Illinois. The documentary film was produced and edited by Levi Obery, founder and CEO of Ten Thirty-One Pictures and recent Bradley University graduate. The film was written and executive produced by his grandmother, Marcella Obery. It is narrated by Steve Christopher, a Washington, Illinois resident.
Production began on May 1, 2008 and was completed 14 months later on June 27, 2009. The film was shown at a private anniversary celebration in July. The 33-minute film depicts life on the family farm from the beginning when the family moved to the United States from France in the early 1870s and worked through sweat and tears to become the successful and thriving enterprise that it is today.
About Levi Obery
Levi Obery began producing small video projects and films under the "Ten Thirty-One" banner in 2002. The name was derived from a film project that was set on Halloween. The film was his first collaboration with David Zimmerman III. Obery is the principal shareholder in Ten Thirty-One Pictures Entertainment and manages its overall operations, which include motion picture development, production, and distribution.
Obery graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurship.
Obery produced, wrote, and co-directed The Only Way, the controversial film about a school shooting. The following summer, he produced, wrote, and co-directed the short film Before the Storm. He then produced Into the Woods, the fourth film with David Zimmerman III. Obery also served as co-producer on the critically-acclaimed film One Hour Fantasy Girl, which was shot in Los Angeles in February 2008. In 2009, Obery produced an award-winning documentary film, The Obery Farms Legacy, for the 135th anniversary of his family's agricultural enterprise. Obery also produced The Magic Stone in 2009, which is scheduled for release in 2011. Obery is currently in pre-production on several television and motion picture properties, including Johnny Violence, the new film from Heroic Age Studios.
